3 Wheel Double Buggy

The Fox 5 is an all-terrain stroller that's ideal for parents who want to go off-road. It has a suspension that is impressive and large wheels that are puncture proof.

Our test participant Claire was amazed by the clean, easy-to-open packaging and deemed it to be to be one of the quickest and easiest pieces of baby equipment to put together. She took it to explore some tough terrain and was very pleased with its performance.

Seats

The majority of triple buggies start as single pushchairs. However, some models can be converted to accommodate an additional seat by using adapters. You'll also see that some models let you add a ride-on board for older children who would like to walk but require some help.

Check out the Joie Evalite Duo for an ultra-lightweight option that is perfect for city streets. It's a breeze to move and comes with a large basket that has plenty of storage space. It can accommodate twins from at birth and will accept two car seats, or a carrycot that has a seat. However, the seats need to be oriented forward and there's no room for a shopping bag underneath, so you'll need a backpack for this.

If you're looking to go off-road then the Mountain Buggy Duet is a good choice. It's a side-by-side with the smallest footprint of any double buggy available on the market. This makes it easier to pass through doors with narrow openings and on public transport and allows you to climb up and down kerbs without too much trouble. It also has a handbrake on the adjustable handlebar to provide additional security and safety.

Another option that is lightweight is the UPPAbaby Vista 2 Double, which can be used to accommodate twins or a toddler and baby. The seats have a multi-position reclining with UPF 50plus sunshades. The iCandy Orange double buggies are among the most well-known available. This is due to their exceptional comfort. Suspension

The suspension of a double 3-wheel buggy will determine how easy you and your child/children are able to push it. It is important to have a smooth ride because babies can feel every bump that comes along the road. This is especially relevant if you drive on rough terrain such as grass or roads that are not paved. Some models also come with locking front wheels to help in maneuvering and navigating obstacles such as curbs.

Some models have tyres with air filled that are ideal for all-terrain rides, but they are susceptible to punctures. Make sure you have a spare set of tyres inside the trunk. Certain models come with gel-filled or foam-filled tyres which are designed to cushion bumps. They can be less likely to puncture, but they could be uncomfortable for your child should you decide to run.

MFM reviewer Kath put the Urban Glide 2 through its tests with her infant and three years old son, and found it was able to handle difficult terrain: "it navigated effortlessly over grass and bumpy pavements, cobbles and dirt tracks with ease and was easy to manoeuvre around corners and go up and down kerbs. The 16" rear wheels, when combined with the lockable swivel wheels on the front, create a very comfortable jogging experience. The Urban Glide 2 is loaded with features as well as a large basket with zip-top cover large cushioned seat and a 50+ UV hood and game-changing visibility lights that are easy to use and recharge.

Folding

A three-wheel double buggy could be folded neatly for storage. There are models that fold flat and then stand up (as if they're in a pushchair position) as well as ones that pop out to reveal more of an umbrella-style fold with a hand-operated brake. The more wheels the buggy has, in general the easier it will be to maneuver through rough terrain. This is particularly true if your wheels are larger than the average size. You will have more stability and it will be less likely that you will have to flip or tip your child.

The iCandy Wave is a popular choice. It can be used with an infant car-seat as early as birth, and later converted to a double buggy when your child is older. It's a light-feeling option, which makes it easy to push, and it comes full of extra features including raincover and a bumper bar.

The phil&teds sports is an alternative option. It is future-proof as it's a fantastic buggy that can be altered to take two (or three!) All of this is contained in its compact footprint.  3 wheeled pushchair  has an innovative 3-wheel design that includes a sling seat for greater maneuverability, stability and the ability to pop the kerb.

It features a big undercarriage, an adjustable handlebar, and a soft suspension for an enjoyable ride.

It's a lightweight and compact option that can be folded with one hand and is ideal for travel. It is compatible with many infant car seats and includes a handy undercarriage bag to store items. It's not cheap, but it has several distinctive features, like its one-click folding feature and a host of extras, including bumper bars or raincovers.

Storage

Many are awed by the capacity of storage offered by a triple-wheeled buggy. Some models like the Roma Atlas offer a generously-sized basket and 2 handy zip pockets on the hood to keep keys and your phone easily accessible. It's also designed for dealing with rough terrain, so it's a great option for family walks or all-terrain walks.

Other models, like the UPPAbaby Vista 2, offer plenty of space and the possibility of transporting twins or a child and a toddler. (This is possible thanks to their 'PiggyBack board'). It's the most compact side-by-side double on the market and comes with some impressive tech including game-changing LED visibility lights that change on both sides of the frame to improve safety in dim lighting conditions.

For something different you can choose the Joie Evalite Duo is a lightweight buggy that can accommodate twins from birth (it's open to the world and features the ability to lie flat). The frame's clever design expands widthways to accommodate the extra seat but it still only weighs around 11kg, making it easy to lift and manoeuvre. It can be used with an infant car seat, a carrycot, or both. This allows you to get the best of all worlds.
